Dr Larsson identifies the risks and key success factors in each approach, and discusses the circumstances under which to choose each approach, concluding with advice on assessing organisational readiness for value-based healthcare.

It further examines the critical role of data and informatics in value-based healthcare, standardised patient-centric health outcomes measures, and the development of an AI prediction tool for acute kidney injury in the ICU, which is being used to reduce the incidence and consequence of renal failure.
